Well, in case anyone hasn't heard, Martha Stuart was sentenced to 5 MONTHS in jail and some probation and other lame shit. Here's the lesson kids...if you commit a federal crime like playing the market and then LYING that you did so, you get only 5 MONTHS in jail. Well, that is if you're in the public eye. You know, I've always thought to myself "If I ever become lead singer of any national band, I should see what kind of damage I can do and not get caught." Yeah, right. I know better than that. What really pisses me off is that any other shmuck off the street would probably get 5 YEARS for the same crime. Look, I don't give a shit if this lady has endeared herself to the public and made herself out to be this squeaky clean housewife type. SHE IS A CRIMINAL PROSECUTED FOR A FEDERAL CRIME! I would feel the same way if the pope rolled up to an LA street corner in the Popemobile and asked a prostitute for favors. It isn't right and niether is this. (Disclaimer: Not bashing the pope here. Just making a point.) These people are in the public eye and as such, they should also know that other people, especially young people, see what it is these people do on a daily basis most of the time and it isn't healthy for them to see a celeb getting a light slap. These kids might see that as the way things are in this country and believe they can get away with it as well. But if there are young kids that idolize Martha, I would have to, as a psychology major, ask that they seek professional help.
I'm listening to Martha babble on and on right now about how sorry she is and all that kiss ass crap. It's a joke. The biggest crock is her apology to the hundreds of workers that lost their jobs because of her fuck up. Yeah Martha, I really bet those unemployed workers will give a shit about what you have to say. YOU CAUSED THEM TO LOSE THEIR JOBS! I'll bet Joe Shmo is sitting at home saying "Yeah, I know I lost my job and now I'm scrapping out a living doing whatever I can, but Martha said sorry, so it's cool now." WRONG! I'll bet if these people had you right now, being drawn and quartered would seem like a fuzzy day at one of your bed and breakfast shit holes. So for those people that lost their jobs and anyone that thinks celebs like this should do time like the rest of us, HAVE A NICE TIME IN JAIL MARTHA!
