According to the website www.askmen.com/specials/top_200_albums/3_hard_rock_metal.html, here are the top 20 Hard Rock/Heavy Metal Albums of all time. Just wanted to get Vic's opinion on this list. Here it is: -------------------------------------------------------------- 20. “The Great Radio Controversy” – Tesla 19. “Seasons In The Abyss” – Slayer 18. “Skid Row” – Skid Row 17. “Extreme II: Pornografitti” – Extreme 16. “Whitesnake” – Whitesnake 15. “Dr. Feelgood” – Motley Crue 14. “Empire” – Queensryche 13. “Number Of The Beast” – Iron Maiden 12. “Passion & Warfare” – Steve Vai 11. “New Jersey” – Bon Jovi 10. “Rust In Peace” – Megadeth 9. “Far Beyond Driven” – Pantera 8. “Permanent Vacation” – Aerosmith 7. “Alive!” – KISS 6. “Back In Black” – AC/DC 5. “Van Halen” – Van Halen 4. “Live & Loud” – Ozzy 3. “Ride The Lightning” – Metallica 2. “Use Your Illusion I & II” – Guns-N-Roses 1. “Hysteria” – Def Leppard ------------------------------------------------------------ Seems to me they forgot a few, namely a few tiny little records nobody ever heard, like "Appetite For Destruction", "Slippery When Wet", "Slave To The Grind" and "Pyromania". Your opinions, Oh Mighty Vocal One?

If they wanted Ozzy on the list they should have picked something more classic over a newer release. (Ultimate Sin, Bark at the moon)
I would have gone with Slippery over New Jersey on the list. (since Slippery was the album that broke Jovi big)
Replaced Use your Illusion 1 & 2 with Appetite.
And prob Pyromania over Hysteria. (although Hysteria is the album that broke Def Lep big)
The rest of the list is pretty good. Although someone can shoot me, I could give a rats ass less about Slayer.

Have to agree with Mistress. Appetite should be at the top somewhere. I would also put The Great Radio Controversy higher, Tesla was very underrated in my opinion.
Also, Master of Puppets is a huge album.

Megadeth beats Slayer? I don't think so, especialy the Rust in Peace album, Peace Sells was Megadeth's best, but still not better than any Slayer offering IMO. Seasons is my favorite Slayer album though. Gotta agree, Appetite was GnR's definitive album, Use your illusion? Not so much. Extreme? Are you kidding me? Granted, they were good in the 80s, but definitely not an "all time" best by any stretch. Any die-hard 'Ryche fan will accept Empire, heck, it was the first CD I ever bought, but we'll all say Mindcrime was tops. The rest, I have no real opinion on, I hate anything Aerosmith did sans their earliest stuff.

This is such a cool subject that i gotta put two cents in from a guitar guys point of view (by the way, all the posts have killer ideas as to that list!!!!!) ever notice that 'blizzard of ozz'- the album that sparked a whole new style of metal never gets on the bill? i would say that there is a tie for the number one spot:van halen one and blizzard- the starting point of everything that has made us 'us'. i would say (from a humble guitarist point of view): 1)van halen 1/blizzard of ozz 2)ozzy diary of a madman 3)ac/dc back in black 4)guns n roses apitite 5)metallica puppets 6)def leppard pyromania 7)scorpions blackout 8)van halen fair warning 9)pantera cowboys from hell/megadeth piece sells (tie!!!) 10)king diamond them 11)iron maiden number of the beast 12)quiet riot metal health 13)anthrax amoung the living 14)dokken tooth and nail 15)judas priest screaming for vengance 16)kix/ kix 17)fastway trick or treat soundtrack 18)black sabbath live evil 19)w.a.s.p. electric circus 20)kiss alive II thats what i would pick depending on my mood and if my medicin is working correctly (keep in mind that thrash is a differant subject alltogether!!!!!!!!!) you guys all rock!
